Verified Reviewer |Waste of Time and Questionable Sales Rep
- - Asked for a free exterior door estimate; appointment set fast.
- - Castle called repeatedly; the visit included a sales pitch and no quote.
What a disappointment I had inquired on their website to get a free estimate to replace exterior double doors that were on the side of the house/basement. The company contacted me quickly and an appointment was set up for the following day great!
From the time I spoke with that person to the time of the appointment, I received four (4) calls from Castle who were reaching out because I inquired about a free estimate. I had to tell each one that YES, I have an appointment scheduled. Unfortunately the New Jersey office (where the initial inquiry goes) and the Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg office do not communicate.
Ok that was annoying but I can look beyond that. Appointment time.
I will forego his name, but the Castle rep, upon telling him to come on it, walks right past me, into the kitchen, and sits down with his briefcase/computer bag like he was setting up shop. No words spoken after introducing himself while his head was on swivel looking all around. Oh geez, what have I done. As he sat down I said the door is in the basement and suggested we go down there.
His response was OK, Im just looking. I then said You scoping out the place? While it was a joke, I literally think he was IN FACT scoping out the place. While he was pulling out his tablet, notebook, etc., I informed him that I only want a quote on the door and that I didnt want this to turn into another Anderson Window experience where they want you to sign a contract on the spot.
I told him specifically I am obtaining quotes from multiple companies and I would NOT be signing anything today. He ignored that and started going into detail on the options even though I had told him I wanted to get a quote on a slider and double door no customization as the door leads to an unfinished basement and is on the side of the house.
We finally get downstairs where he has no measurement tape. The whole time he is looking around although the door is right in front of him. And let me tell you the door is jacked.
The framing is rotting, door is rusting, and his guy asked is there a reason why you want to replace the door? what? I asked if he was going to take measurements and he stated I will get to that. I was growing extremely frustrated as I continued to inform him, just get the measurements so I can get an estimate.
I also had only carved out 30 mins for the appointment as I had a hard stop due to a meeting (work from home).
Back upstairs we go, he goes on to detail the doors, etc. and multiple times mentioned how the door is easily broken into I can get in with a crowbar. At this point, my blood is boiling. I kept saying to myself how can I get this guy out of my house.
After 25 mins of him jabbering on about nothing I cared about, I told him to get his stuff so we can get measurements of the door. He picks up the measuring tape and starts walking toward the basement but I say no, bring all your stuff down so you can head out from there. He was not happy with that response but did in fact get his stuff and go to the basement. Once there, he did measurements (and I will use that term loosely) and jotted down some notes.
After a couple of minutes of silence and him doing I-dont-know-what, I ask did you get everything you need to provide me a quote? And I dont need the quote right at this moment, I would prefer you email it to me. That was not their process apparently they dont email quotes. what?
He was getting extremely frustrated with me as he mentioned that it sounded like I need a handyman/contractor vs a window and door company, adding that I needed a hourly guy and he works on commission. Gotcha! I agreed to get him out even though I already had 2 local and reputable door/window companies come out. He finally left through the basement.
I was 3 mins late to my meeting.
Never again will I ever contact Castle, nor recommend them to ANYONE.
Not only did I sound like a broken record telling him that I didnt want a sales pitch and that I already know what brand door they use and informed him of the doors I wanted quotes on (including color and knobs), I started feeling very uncomfortable with our interaction and I wanted him OUT of the house - from his initial entrance to his constant looking around to his repeated comments about how easily it is to break in. Verified Reviewer |Terrible Customer Service
- - Customer service is poor.
- - Warranty window replacement was slow, installation was quick, and the repair date was incorrect.
Customer service is terrible. Our warranty window needed to be replaced and it is like pulling teeth trying to get it done but the new window installation got done immediately. Now the warranty people gave us the incorrect repair date for our defective, warranty window.

They supposably fix a problem where the bow window in my living room was leaking due to manufacturing default and the leak returned and ruined the wooden widow sill below the window.
- - Replace the leaking unit to fix the problem.
- - The unit was apparently never fixed properly.
- - Replace the ruined wooden window sill.
They could fix the problem by replacing the complete unit that has been leaking apparently was never fixed properly and replace the wooden window sill which is ruined hopefully that's all that's been damaged due to this on going leak.

Verified ReviewerCastle are a fraud
- - Bought Castle Windows 2005 with lifetime warranty.
- - The warranty is fraudulent and void.
- - Franchise no longer in business; pre-2007 windows void.
I purchased Castle Windows in 2005 with a lifetime warranty. That warranty is a fraud and a bunch of crap.
When I called for service recently I was told that the franchise that sold me the windows was no longer in business and that my so called warranty was void and any windows installed prior to 2007 was void. Castle Windows in my estimation is a ghost company and have issued fraudulent warranties. IYou would be a dam fool doing business with Castle Windows.
I feel foolish having to tell my friends that Castle Windows are a fraud and they still offer the life time warranty. STAY AWAY FROM CASTLE

Verified Reviewer9 windows were
- - Inadequate install of 9 windows; materials cheap.
- - 5 of 9 leaks during rain; not responsive; small-claims planned.
Castle Windows did my home, 9 windows, the job was inadequate and the material use was cheap for the cost I paid, I called them 4 times when we had the bad rain storm here in New Jersey, 5 of the windows were leaking water, the air comes in when its windy, do your best to stay away from this company, I tried getting in touch with management but no one will call back after leaving complaints about the mishaps, now I have no choice but to file a complaint in small claims court for the issues Im encountering. Please stay away from this company

Verified Reviewer |My windows (whole house) have been leaking and constantly need repairs since day one.
- - Windows installed January 2020 by Castle.
- - By Feb 2024 the windows still leak and cause damage.
- - I asked for a refund so they can be replaced.
I had all new windows installed 1/2020 by castle , 2/2024 my windows are still leaking and I have damage to my house. I wish I NEVER called them.
I have requested for my money back so I can have them replaced but I dont think that will EVER happen. It is very frustrating and very sad that I spent so much money to be put in this situation and NO ONE cares
- No pros
- Poor installation
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Run
Because it took 10 months to get it right.
- - Ordered Aug 2023; installed Jan 2024.
- - One window didnt fit and they refused to fill it.
- - Brad remeasured correctly; replacement arranged.
I ordered windows in August2023 installed January 2024. There was a problem with the fit of one, they wanted to fill.
I said no, I paid for a window that fit. Supposedly they ordered a new window. In February they brought a window, the exact same size as the one that didnt fit. If it wasnt for Brad I would probably gotten a lawyer.
He seemed to be the only one that knew what he was doing. He came remeasured correctly.
Finally got the window replaced June2924. I really wouldnt recommend them.

WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE
- - Salesman pressured for a contract instead of an estimate.
- - He ignored my no and harassed me.
- - Prices were higher; $2k off; 18 windows and doors lost.
The salesman tried to bully and guilt me into signing a contract when I specifically advised I only wanted an estimate. Unprofessional, disgusting and disrespected in MY own home.
Totally disregarded my NO in signing his contract. Wanted a down payment and proceeded to order me to run to the bank, give him a credit card, give him all the cash I had in the house. TOTALLY Crossed My boundaries. I owed him no explanations, but he kept on with his harassment.
How he doesn't get paid for travel time. Taking full advantage of my being a widow. Or as he put it. Your husbands dead.
I'm shocked I just sat there and listened to his self-absorbed whining on how he's 80% on closings. How he already took $2k off the price. Also, the prices I'm seeing for your windows. I was quoted double the price.
Maybe that's why he became so belligerent.
You Lost 18 windows+doors and his commission. Hope I deflated his Narcissistic ego.

Verified ReviewerTreated like crap
- - Sales reps postponed until my wife could be present.
- - Stay away from Castle Windows; they say they are always right.
I was trying to get several company's to get prices for a door and picture window. But they decided because my wife was not there they would come back at another time and when I told them they don't need to because my wife who works full time is not going to sit through several sales calls.
We would make a decision on what info I get from the different companies such as Price, quality, warrenty. Shawn told me that I was not going to tell them how things would proceed. When I called the company they just backed up their sales team. I can only imagine what they would be like once they got a deposit.
I would highly recommend that you stay away from Castle Windows when looking for windows.
Their motto is "They are always right". Stay away

- - Water on the sill led to a tech visit and an upcoming appointment.
- - We were told $350 must be paid before the appointment.
- - We won't use Castle again.
We noticed water on my sill of the double window. I called for service a tech came out looked at damage and said an appointment would be made.
Received call this morning only to be told I had to pay $350 to be paid before appointment could be made!
They stated it had leaked for a while and we never called for service! We never called because we never saw it! Just be careful using them!
I always gave good reviews but no more! I was about to order two new doors but it wont be Castle this time!

Verified ReviewerIncompetent Customer Service
- - Windows are decent.
- - Customer service is horrible; four service visits were canceled over two months.
- - Screens are worn with tears and holes.
WIndows are descent. Customer service is horrible.
Over time, the screens have become severely worn and have a lot of tears and holes. This should be no problem, right, the windows come with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, the customer service team of a window company can't seem to handle the simple task of replacing window screens. I've been warned that trying to replace them myself will cancel the lifetime warranty.
I've scheduled four service visits over the past two+ months, which have been canceled for various reasons. The screens are still not replaced or repaired and despite speaking with countless customer representatives, I have no clear date on when they will be fixed.
- Quality and service
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Warning. Be prepared for inept and ineffective customer service.
Customer service sucks
- - Scheduling was inconsistent.
- - Truck broke down, causing a reschedule.
- - Window dressings removed twice; couch moved.
If I knew how these guys operate I would not have used them...They cannot make appointments, they put us on schedule, then we were not scheduled for that day, then we were scheduled for that day. Then on the day: the truck broke down-reschedule.
Removed the window dressings for the second time, couch, another vacation day. These guys are the worst, I hope the windows are worth the *** service.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Unsatisfied with customer support
- - A year ago I had a $3500 slider put in; workers scratched the track and door.
- - After a year, track scratches remain.
- - They offered me $100 and I said no.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. They came today to replace the tracking on the slider. And the workers did a much better job than the last..
A year a go I had a slider put in. Workers scratched the tracking and the door while installing.
I'm still waiting for the track scratches to be resolved after 1 year. I'd be satisfied with replacing the track but they don't really want to go that route. Offered me 100 dollars and I said no. This slider is a 3500.00 door.
I work hard for my money. This shouldn't of taken this long and still not resolved.
- Nice products

Poor customer service
- - Castle windows were ordered twice.
- - One window was flawed; another cracked after install.
- - COVID delayed materials; company builds its own windows.
I ordered windows from castle twice. One window is flawed and the second cracked right after installation.
I called numerous times and was told the windows were ordered but due to COVID they were having difficulty getting materials.
I was told this company built their own windows! If they can't get windows how are they still selling windows
- Poor customer service
- Do not back up their warranty
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Run don't walk away from Castle windows. I ordered windows and one had a manufacturing defect and the other cracked within weeks of installation. I live in NJ and the windows are made in Ohio. I have waited over a year and a half for Castle Windows to replace these windows. Every excuse in the world is given Covid, Manpower shortage, difficulty getting parts.Yest they offer a lifetime guarantee, however, that is offered because it takes a lifetime for Castle Windows to fulfill the window Warranty. On my latest try to receive my replacement windows customer service called me, told me my windows were in, they set an appointment and I took off from work. I received a call the day of installation and was told the installers forgot to load one of the windows on the truck. I told them to come and install one of the windows. When they came to my home the installer said the window was measured incorrectly (they did the measuring). The installer told me the windows came be in in 2 weeks but the customer service is poor. The installer told me he would put the order in again. It has been months and still no windows. Next step is Better Business Bureau.
